Join Us for Stewardship Day!
Villa seeks to instill and nurture in students a sense of stewardship for the environment. Across all grade levels, our curriculum weaves a
connection to the natural world. Tomorrow’s Stewardship Day from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. is an opportunity for families to engage in shared
learning and shared stewardship. Did you know that:
• Blackberry vines create thickets which block native plants.
• English ivy blanketing the forest floor can crawl up tree trunks, depriving our evergreens of air and sunlight.
• Recent studies have shown Seattle trees remove 725 metric tons of pollution from the environment every year, while decreasing stress and
improving water quality.
Together, we will remove invasive growth, plant native species on the forest floor, and maintain our urban-forest canopy. If you
haven't signed up yet, please email Kelly Brackett today so we can get your clippers and snack
bag ready!
